A wonderfully preserved Colt 1ST Generation SAA Bisley in .32 WCF with 4 ¾ inch barrel that is more than 100 years old, with Colt factory letter from the Colt Archives’ Historian. This beauty was manufactured in 1906. The top of the barrel has the two line Hartford address with "(BISLEY MODEL) 32 W.C.F." on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the assembly number "1486" on the loading gate. Blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. Colt manufactured approximately 44,350 Bisley revolvers from 1894 to 1915. The accompanying letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 3 to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company, Chicago, Illinois on November 24, 1906. There is also a hand written notation from R.L. Wilson which refers to this Colt as "... this rare, excellent conditioned 4 3/4" Bisley Single Action Army. R L Wilson".
This Bisley is truly “excellent” in condition. The revolver retains 90% plus original blue finish with some muzzle and high edge wear, and some thinning to a smooth gray patina on the grip straps. The frame retains 90% original bright case colors. The grips are excellent with a few small dings on the lower edges and some minor dings on the bottoms. The checkering is crisp. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. This Colt SAA Bisley is exceptional for its condition. SN 285453
