Serial Number:

WONDERFUL Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Semi-Automatic Pistol with Original Box serialized to the pistol in pencil on the bottom of the box. Manufactured in 1922, this beautiful example of the Colt 1903 Pocket pistol is in an amazing "state of preservation" for having been manufactured 88 years ago. Features include: a 3 3/4 inch barrel; fixed sights; high polish Colt blue finish; automatic grip safety; checkered thumb safety/slide hold back; checkered, hard rubber grips with COLT banner and rampant Colts; and 8 round blued magazine with "CAL .32 COLT" stamping. OAL is 6 3/4 inches and weight is approximately 24 ounces. Box contains two scarce and desirable documents: one four page fold-over pamphlet titled "Special Instructions" that describes proper care for the pistol; one four page owner's manual for the .32 and .380 Hammerless Automatic Pistol. The owner's manual includes four steel engraved illustrations: a cut away drawing of the pistol and magazine, an exploded diagram and an associated  parts list, and a disassembly illustration. Pistol condition is excellent, with 99% plus of original finish. Light edge wear and light spotting or freckling mostly on slide. The grips have a few, very light handling marks and crisp checkering. The box is good condition with minor wear and a small amount of edge separation. The interior labels are complete, excellent and both have clear textual and image printing. The Owner's Manual has split seams along the fold over lines but is not fully separated. Serial number is an interesting series of descending even numbers (for those of you who find serial numbers interesting!): 403020.  A wonderful find for the Colt Automatic collector, complete with original serialized box and papers.
