NEVER A COMPLAINT A famous and desirable, limited edition lithograph by the renown military-theme artist, Don Stiver (now deceased). This lithograph was printed in 1987 as a limited regular edition of 950, all signed and numbered. Of that small edition, you have the opportunity to own serial number 2 ......yes, a single digit from the beginning of the edition. This lithograph depicts the 2ND Dragoons (destined to become the US 2ND Cavalry) during the 1857-58 Utah expedition under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Philip St. George Cooke, a career US Army cavalry officer who three years later, led the 2ND Dragoons for the Union during the Civil War. An interesting historical highlight about LTC Cooke is that later in life, during the Civil War when he was a Brigadier General Commanding elements of the Union Cavalry, his son-in-law was Major General J.E.B. Stuart, the Commander of the Cavalry for the Army of Northern Virginia. Talk about a competitive relationship!! This lithograph is new, unframed, original in all respects and in the original Don Stiver sleeve with accompanying information sheet. This lithograph has been stored flat since release 34 years ago. If you are not picking up this lithograph at our shop in Hiawatha, Iowa, we can ship it to you. PRICE: $1750.00
